This Pecorino wine is medium-dry and crisp on the palate. It has a rich straw yellow appearance with greenish highlights. The bouquet is delicately floral, with accompanying notes of citrus and tropical fruit.
Pietrantonj Pecorino IGT Exclusive
This Pecorino comes from the oldest winery in Abruzzo. The word ‘Pecorino” means “little sheep” and it has been said that the wine was given this name because the sweet grape was a favorite treat for flocks of sheep traveling between pastures. Although it is a white wine, it has a generous-sized palate offering a rich, full flavor that is vibrant and crisp with a finish that displays the classic note of almond.
We love this wine because it is Abruzzo in a bottle! When we drink it we can’t help but think of the majestic mountains, the dreamy fields of grazing sheep and the fresh air that is Abruzzo. Pair it with a nice cheeseboard, prosciutto, and figs or a pork dish. We especially enjoy it with regional soups.
